He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? NKJV Micha 6:8
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
NIV Deuteronomy 6:5-7
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may become clean also. NASB Matthew 23:25-26
And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. And which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’? But will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare something for my supper, and gird yourself and serve me till I have eaten and drunk, and afterward you will eat and drink’? Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not. So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do. NKJV Luke 17:5-10

Who Am I
In my relationships and roles I am a father, a husband, a brother, a son, a friend, a teacher, a supervisor, a trainer, a student, a servant, and a christian (a child of God.) I was not one to speak up and be heard, but God is changing that.
The verses above are some of the verses that have changed me the most. The idea that a servant serves himself last with a understanding of who he is in humility before God; was the first one to force me to change my way of thinking. The others focus on God's perfecting work in my life. |

My Personality Type
I have went through quite a bit of personality training at work and in the groups that I spend time with. While I believe that no man made grouping can nail down a person completely I do find them interesting, and often they do a good job of summing up what I am like as an overview. So here is a summury of my personality.

I was a dreamer ... (still am, I think)
|
I was into comic book heros and dungeons & dragons. There is something wonderful about a hero to me even to this day. Of all my struggles, this is the one that I battle with the most. I recognized these as idoles. For when I was into them, they occupied my thoughts whenever I was not focused on something else. This is where my mind naturally went. Wherever a person's mind and deeds are, there you find their "god".
Still to this day I fall back into these things. Then I feel God telling me that He has better plans for me than writing stories about things that never happen. I believe Him, but this is a stronghold in my life. When I fall into it, other desires start to come back from the life I left behind to follow Christ. God will complete the work that He has started in my life. |
